Fractora / Morpheus8 Skin Tightening

Introduction

Morpheus8 / Fractora is a fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment that reduces wrinkles and improves skin tone to restore the skin to a more radiant and youthful appearance.

Description

Morpheus8 / Fractora delivers targeted bipolar radio frequency (RF) energy to selectable depths in the skin, to improve aging skin concerns ranging from superficial skin tone problems (photo damage) to textural concerns such as acne scarring and deeper wrinkles. The doctor can select the depth, density and energy level to achieve results that were previously unattainable without surgery.

Benefits and Application

Morpheus8 / Fractora can be used on any areas of the body that can benefit from skin renewal. Common areas include the forehead, lower eyelids, cheeks, smile lines, around the mouth and the neck.

Morpheus8 / Fractora meets and exceeds the results of fractional CO2 without the associated downtime, prolonged redness, and potential pigmentation issues.

The Procedure

Fractionated bipolar radio frequency (RF) energy is applied to the skin using a matrix of micropins. The RF energy heats both the superficial and the deeper layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalise the collagen and improving the complexion and the texture of the skin.

Discomfort

Local anaesthetic cream applied 45 mins prior to the treatment substantially reduces the pain or discomfort associated with the procedure. Some pricks and heat may be felt around certain more sensitive areas like the eyelids and upper lip. Multiple depths and passes can increase discomfort and oral painkillers, local anaesthetic blocks and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can be used if necessary.  Cooling with ice or cold air during and after the procedure is also very effective at reducing any burning or hot sensation in the skin.

Down time

Morpheus8 / Fractora is a minimally invasive procedure so downtime is short compared to other treatments such as the Fractionated Co2 Laser.  The skin should be kept moisturised and sunscreen should be diligently applied after the procedure. Make up can be applied 1 to 2 days after the procedure.

Mild swelling is common and patients should expect to see some red marks and microdots on the skin for a few days after the procedure. There may be settling redness for up to a week depending on the treatment parameters used.

Morpheus8 / Fractora is very safe and can be used on darker skin types with little risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which is common when using lasers on darker skins.

Costs
